The MaxLikeInf class#

class pylife.materialdata.woehler.MaxLikeInf(fatigue_data)[source]#

Estimate endurance-limit parameters by maximum likelihood.

MaxLikeInf first performs the elementary finite-life evaluation. It then fits SD, the endurance limit load at the knee point, and TS, the scatter in load direction, from the infinite-life zone. k_1 and TN remain the elementary estimates, and ND is recalculated from the intersection of SD with the finite-life branch.

Choose this analyzer when the finite-life slope is well represented by the fracture data but the endurance-limit level should be fitted from mixed fracture/runout load levels.

Parameters:

fatigue_data (pandas.DataFrame or FatigueData) – Wöhler test data passed to Elementary.

Notes

The maximum-likelihood evaluation follows the usual DIN 50100 Wöhler test interpretation of fractures and runouts in the endurance-limit region.
