The Probit class

Estimate endurance-limit parameters with the Probit method.

Probit first performs the elementary finite-life evaluation. It then estimates failure probabilities for each load level in the infinite-life region, fits a log-normal probability model, and updates SD, TS, and ND. k_1 and TN remain the elementary estimates.

Choose this analyzer when endurance-limit test levels contain fractures and runouts and a DIN 50100-style Probit evaluation is desired. If fewer than two load levels are available in the infinite-life region, the result falls back to Elementary.

Parameters:

fatigue_data (pandas.DataFrame or FatigueData) – Wöhler test data passed to Elementary.

Notes

Load levels with no fractures, all fractures, or mixed outcomes are assigned Rossow-style failure probabilities before the probability fit.
